October Newsletter

Welcome back after the holiday. As the nights draw in, we have lots of bright, colourful and sparkling topics and activities ready for the children to enjoy over the next few weeks. We will begin with the theme of Divali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. The children will be making patterns, investigating light and tasting different foods. We will also be exploring Bonfires, Fireworks and Space.

Learning Journeys

These will be available for parents to take home from 7th November. They will include a termly review, ongoing observations, photographs, experiences, assessments and activities which can be carried out at home to support your child's learning. We hope that you enjoy reading about your child and sign the review sheet to confirm that the Learning Journey has been seen

A huge thank you for...

All of the donations of books, toys, cooking ingredients and snacks for Forest School. They are very much appreciated. Also, a big thank you to members of the community that have dropped off donations at Under Fives. We have been given games and toys from people in Eckington whose children and grandchildren are much older now but they continue to support us. Thank you again.

Children in Need Week 14th-18th November

We would like to invite the children to wear spots or fancy dress, if they wish, during this week. Prior to this, each child will bring home a small box of Smarties. Please eat and enjoy the Smarties, then bring the box back to Under Fives filled with loose change to go to Children in Need. There will be a bucket out during the week for donations. In addition, the children will be baking during the week and the cakes and biscuits will be sold at the end of the sessions. So, please don't forget to bring along a little bit of money for your cake purchases!
