Eckington Pre-school

We are a small and friendly preschool with a key aim to provide nurturing and quality learning to all of the children in our care. Our sessions are open for children from the age of 2 years right up to school age. We provide carefully planned and creative learning opportunities , with an emphasis on outdoor learning, which encourage each child to develop individually and to reach their full potential.

Each of our children has a designated key worker, who will carefully observe and assess their progress and interests and feed these into the planning for each session. Your child's key worker will keep you informed of your child's development both through regular conversations and email updates and photos via out Tapestry Assessment programme. These will keep you informed about the activities that your little one enjoys during the day!

Our sessions are centred on child initiated learning experiences, free flow & small and whole group adult-initiated teaching, using both the indoor and outdoor environments. We prefer to use resources made from natural materials, wherever possible, as these are perfect for developing children's creativity and imagination, as well as bringing the outdoors and natural world inside. During the morning, the children bring a healthy snack and which we eat together and enjoy sharing conversation.

We are a voluntary committee run charity, which enables us to keep our fees as low as possible whilst having the advantages of a high staff to children ratio.
